The Mother City, as it is affectionately called, is a huge tourist destination for Africa and the rest of the world. It stands far above other major African destinations in terms of drawcards for potential visitors with many of the country’s top tourism destinations on our doorstep.
Most notably, we would encourage people to visit:
A majestic flat-topped peak, Table Mountain dominates Cape Town's skyline. With its iconic, breathtaking views, diverse flora, and easy access by cable car, this is a must-see for all visitors.

Cape Point falls within the southern section of Table Mountain National Park. The natural vegetation of the areas – fynbos – comprises the smallest but richest of the world’s six floral kingdoms. Rugged rocks and sheer cliffs towering more than 200 meters above the sea and cutting deep into the ocean provide a spectacular background for the park’s rich biodiversity. Visitors can take a ride on the Flying Dutchman funicular to the steps of the new lighthouse and look-out points above.

The Cape Winelands are well known for their picturesque vineyards, world-class wines, charming towns, and exquisite cuisine. This is an area of scenic beauty, tasteful experiences, and rich history.

Hermanus, the world's premier land-based whale watching spot, offers thrilling encounters with southern right whales which can often be seen from the shore. This charming town offers breathtaking coastal scenery and vibrant marine life as well as an excellent selection of sea-front restaurants and shopping opportunities.

Boulders Penguin Colony in Simon’s Town has become world famous for its thriving colony of African Penguins and magnificent wind sheltered, safe beaches. With its protected boardwalks, and stunning coastal scenery, this is a unique experience in Cape Town to get up close to the African penguins.

Kirstenbosch is acclaimed as one of the great botanical gardens in the world. Few gardens can match the sheer grandeur of the setting of Kirstenbosch, located against the eastern slopes of Cape Town’s Table Mountain. Visitors can explore a diverse range of trails through the gardens, enjoy the treetop walkway with its breathtaking views of the city, and explore the various art exhibitions throughout the gardens.

Cape Town offers an array of outdoor activities for adventurers. Hiking, trail running or mountain biking on Table Mountain and the surrounding parks, surfing the Atlantic's waves, or just exploring the vast and diverse natural beauty. Embark on thrilling safaris or try kiteboarding along pristine beaches. Take scenic coastal drives, immerse in diverse landscapes, and soak in the African sun.
