The GAN Smart Cube Competition features 16 of Oceania's fastest 3x3 solvers going head-to-head in a knockout bracket, competing on GAN smart cubes! This exciting event will take place on Saturday evening, after our penultimate finals block.

Qualification

There will be two qualification methods:

• Through the GAN CubeStation app OCR1 Challenge
• Through results from 3x3 Round 1

On the Monday before Oceanics, the OCR1 Challenge event will go live through the CubeStation app, and will be open throughout the weekend. Competitors will attempt to beat the Oceanic Record 3x3 single using connected GAN smart cubes. There will be an opportunity to attempt this challenge in-person at the GANzone using provided smart cubes, or competitors may use their own smart cube whenever they like. Any competitors registered for Oceanics who successfully complete the challenge will be eligible to enter the GAN Smart Cube Competition. If fewer than 3 registered competitors complete the challenge, then the 3 competitors with the fastest results in the OCR1 challenge will be eligible to enter the GAN Smart Cube Competition.

Remaining qualification spots will come from 3x3 Round 1, with up to 13 spots available for the fastest competitors from that round.

Format

• The GAN Smart Cube Competition will be a single elimination bracket, where the faster competitor in each match progresses to the next stage.
• Each match will follow a best of X sets format, with the winner being the competitor who wins the most sets.
• Matches in the first two stages will be best of 1 set, while the 3rd place match and grand final will be best of 3.
• Each set will follow the "average of best 3" format, where competitors do 5 solves and the slowest 2 are removed, with the remaining 3 times averaged together.
